Thanks and feedback were given, both to and by, those Panel members who worked alongside the EPIC team during two recent public events. The first being the EPIC Research Day in December, where two Panel members kindly gave presentations to an audience of research professionals. One focused on experience of participation in EPIC and the other was centred on the experience of being an EPAP member. Panel members also helped at the Cambridge Science Festival in March where they accompanied members of the public through the educational and interactive EPIC public engagement exhibit.
The desired layout and content of the summer newsletter was then discussed. The Panel were presented with a draft newsletter and asked to make any edits or suggest any further content that they would like to see featured. This process was then repeated for the EPIC Fourth Health Check Participant Information Sheet.
Finally, the administration and positive and negative effects of possible intervention measures were debated. Specific interventions were looked at, such as regulated and monitored daily exercise routines, including those provided by electronic devices. One such device was installed for the meeting and several Panel members enjoyed various sample activities before providing constructive feedback for consideration should this be pursued further.
