Data collection methods
EPIC-Norfolk has used four different methods to collect information on diet:
- Food Frequency Questionnaire (FFQ)
- 7 day Diet Diary (7dDD)
- 24 hour Diet Recall (24hDR) – paper version
- Diet web questionnaire (DietWebQ)

The validity of the dietary assessment methods was measured using biological markers (biomarkers). Relative validity was assessed by comparing the dietary assessment instruments against each other. The papers discussing these are outlined in the validation and calibration publications. For further information about the nutritional methods, see the nutritional methods publications.
The numbers of the different dietary assessment methods that have been processed and are available for request are outlined in the table below. Processing this data takes a significant amount of time and work is ongoing. This table will be updated as new measures become available.
